Welcome to Bellingham Counseling Collective - PLLC

Owner & Therapist: Nicole Cunningham, MA, LMHC, NTP

As therapist and owner of her own private practice, Nicole is dedicated to helping clients develop a strong mind-body connection and cultivate lifestyle habits that promote mental and emotional well-being. Nicole is a licensed mental health counselor in Washington State, with a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling, is a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, and has a background in movement training.  Nicole has chosen this combination of trainings so that she could fill a need that she saw missing when she first graduated with a B.A. Clinical Psychology in 1995. Nicole is now able to offer a holistic, multimodal approach to therapy. She works with individuals (children and adults), partners, parents, and families to achieve wellness goals, build resilience, and navigate life’s challenges. Although Nicole is the sole therapist in the practice, she collaborates with the wider community to support her clients in identifying the necessary resources and support. Her client-centered approach creates a safe, compassionate space where clients have agency to explore their thoughts and feelings, set meaningful goals, and foster personal growth.

About us

Bellingham Counseling Collective - PLLC is a private practice led by Nicole Cunningham, a passionate and skilled therapist dedicated to serving the Bellingham community. Nicole’s mission is to create a collective approach to counseling by working collaboratively with local counselors, wellness providers, and community members. The goal is to expand the reach of services and better meet the diverse needs of the community, bringing people together to share their unique skills and support one another.

To ensure clients receive the best care possible, Nicole has outsourced administrative support to an expert who handles all billing, insurance filing, and understands the nuances of insurance. This expert ensures that the payment process runs smoothly and helps avoid any surprises, such as policy changes or unexpected charges, that can arise when navigating insurance. This allows Nicole to focus on therapy while her administrative expert manages the complexities of insurance and billing.

Nicole’s mission is to create a collective that strengthens the connections in our community so that clients, therapists, and healthcare providers can work collaboratively for improved client outcomes and to increase the wellness of our community, maintaining care and compassion as we continue to grow.
